The FEMININE is a digital magazine whose aim is to provide the next generation of women with a more diverse group of mentors, and challenge societies outdated idea of what it means to be feminine by delving into the lives of extraordinary women who are reshaping this definition for us.
From rugby players, to doctors, street artists, feminists, film makers and boxers. They are the definition of living life on their own terms and are changing the way we look at career, life, flaws, success and equality.
By creating this community, we want to create a world where women see the beauty, strength and talent in one another, not the competition. A world where success is measured on fulfillment, not a job title. A world where strong women are lifted up, not shut down. And, a world where strength is celebrated equally and where there are no more female leaders; just leaders.
This is a place for people of all ages to seek inspiration from exceptional women. They are strong, powerful, individual, and Feminine!
MEET THE FOUNDER
Ash spent the first decade of her career as a musician and the last decade as an integrated marketing specialist working in fashion in London. The two paths couldn't be further apart, but the one common thread is how inspired she is by women's stories, and how they have shaped her experience. 'A lot of what inspired me both then and now was looking at life through the female gaze, which is the complete opposite of how most of the media we consume is positioned. I have worked both in the misogynistic entertainment industry and a corporate world which has it's own set of issues. The one thing I feel time and time again is that despite how far we've come, women still need to raise their voices to be heard, and I wanted to create a platform to facilitate that.' Wanting to give the next generation of women a more positive set of role models and mentors, Ash founded The FEMININE. So, if you're inspired by women, or even just curious to hear their stories, read on.
